Catch Up

I haven't done this in quite some time. Everything has been going great around here just super busy. The holidays were wonderful. Lots of family time, fun and the kiddos got way too many gifts but they love them. Nothing major has happened lately besides Landon's big transition. He started jumping out of his crib before Christmas. We took the bumper out since he was using it as leverage and he didn't do it again for a couple weeks. At his well child visit, the doctor said he would have to be moved to a toddler bed if he did it again because of safety concerns. Brandon told Landon to please just make it through New Year's Eve before making the transition. We had a party with our closest friends and we didn't want to deal with him screaming all night if he didn't adjust well. Apparently he listened because he didn't jump out again until New Year's Day during naptime. We made the transition that night. It was terrifying since he is so little. I mean, he's only 18 months. We didn't move Kaylee until she turned 2. Surprisingly enough, he has done fantastic! I can't honestly believe how smooth the transition was. We stayed in there until he fell asleep the first few nights and naptimes didn't really happen because I stayed in there with him and he wanted to play. We finally just put him to bed and left like we did when he was in the crib and he went straight to sleep. He takes his usual naps again too. I put him in there at naptime and sometimes he goes straight to sleep and sometimes he plays a few minutes before climbing back into bed. Luckily, his monitor moves around the room so I can see him at all times. The transition was made over 2 weeks ago and everything is back to normal. He hasn't gotten up at all during the night yet. The doctor said transitioning is usually easier the younger they are because they aren't attached to the crib yet and I believe it 100%. He has taken it much easier than K did at 2.

Landon is now 19 months. CRAZY!! He is so big and so fun. He is talking really well for his age. He only does it when he wants to and not when I want him to but that's ok. He is still super sweet and cuddly when he's tired. He is a daredevil and climbs on everything and tried to jump off. He prefers to drink out of regular cups and not sippies already. He is a biter :( Hopefully we can break that bad habit soon. He still has a binky...yikes! He is an addict so wish us luck when we break that. We broke K at 14 months and it was super easy. This will be a different story with him. We planned to do it in January but after having to move him to the toddler bed, we decided to wait and try in February. I am nervous about that for sure. Landon will eat just about anything. Yet again, totally opposite of K. His 18 month check up went really well. He is healthy as can be. He had a big growth spurt since our last appointment. He was actually in the 30th percentile for height and 25th for weight. He weighed 24 lbs and was 21 3/4 inches tall. He's growing!

Kaylee is still loving dance and gymnastics. She is really good at both too. I love watching her at both places, it reminds me of my glory days :)  She is really good at writing her name and we are working on her last name now. She is super smart and loves preschool. She may be the sweet little girl to ever walk the face of the earth but she is definitely the sassiest too! Ha! She is the best big sister to Landon too. We are definitely blessed with two healthy and amazing children.
